helikedmyshoes: (story twisted [saava])
Work today was just absolute insanity. We had a party of 30, and then every other table in the place was taken. And there were only three of us on, because Tim didn't know that the party was today, so we were running around all crazy like. And there were only two cooks, which made it even worse.

But I did walk out with $76, which made me happy. I think I'm going to buy myself a mini-disc player. I've been eyeing one for a while now, and I know I shouldn't spend the money, but I really want to start working out and I think this is a good way to get myself to. I figure if I buy it, I'll be able to guilt myself into exercising. Hey. At this point [as I munch on a Snickers, no less], I'll try anything.

So I've seen a bunch of movies over the past few days. On Monday, faced with nothing but a long afternoon, Adam and I went to see Shrek 2. It was okay. It was obviously rushed, and though it was funny, it just didn't do it for me. I thought Cameron Diaz was terrible - well, worse than Shrek 1. Not that I think very highly of her to begin with. I thought there were some great jokes - loved Far Far Away, but overall, I didn't think it was anything special.

So that makes Strike Two for movies I haven't liked that everyone else seems to. Maybe I'm just too picky. I'm really looking forward to Spiderman 2, though, and if that disappoints I'm giving up movies forever. The preview looked awesome. There's one shot, in a subway...mmm. Feeling the Spiderman love. Especially after watching the original last night.

When I got home tonight from class, there was a skunk right outside the door biting through the garbage bag that Adam left out there when he was cleaning today. Needless to say, I climbed in through the window. It was cute, though! Reminded me of a kitty. Except not.

Speaking of, there are a TON of cats hanging around the apartment complex that people have kept as pets during the semesters and then abandoned when it was time to go home. It's so sad, they're all so adorable and I want to adopt them all because they don't deserve what's happened to them. People really piss me off sometimes.

The other day, there was a cat sitting in the little window of the dumpster, and I looked over and a raccoon stuck its head up so I could see it through the window. They looked like little bandits! It was too cute!

That was Saturday, when my mama came down and took me out to the Cheesecake Factory for a delicious dinner. It was wonderful to see her, and I showed her the apartment and she didn't demand I move out, so yay.

I may be sleeping outside tonight. I'm not entirely sure why. I wonder if Mr. Skunk likes to cuddle.

I'm making Adam bagel bites so he'll shut the hell up.
